Researchers in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University are seeking participants for a community-based participatory action research project exploring the use of arts-based and embodied learning methods to support frontline service providers in the social services and community health sectors.
The study focuses on collaborative and creative educational approaches to supporting the wellbeing, leadership, and capacity of frontline workers in settlement and newcomer-serving organizations as agents of social change.
Researchers are currently seeking participants who:
- Are currently frontline workers in the social services and community health sectors
- Have at least 5 years of experience working in settlement services
Participants who choose to take part in the study will be asked to:
- Participate in a variety of arts-based learning and discussion activities
- Complete an interview about their experiences
- Participate in a focus group discussion about their experiences
Full participation in the study includes:
- Four collaborative group learning sessions (2 hours each)
- An optional community-based knowledge mobilization event (4 hours)
- One interview (1.5 hours)
- One focus group session (2 hours)
The total time commitment is approximately 15–20 hours spread over one year. Participants will be compensated for their participation.
Sessions are expected to begin in May 2026.
