Invitation: Advancing Action on Anti-Black Racism in Healthcare – May 30, 2026

In June 2025, Western University’s Centre for Research on Health Equity and Social Inclusion (CRHESI) hosted a collaboratively planned event called ‘Addressing Anti-Black Racism in Healthcare’. This year, London’s hospitals (LHSC and St. Joe’s) and the London Intercommunity Health Centre have been developing a collective action plan to address anti-Black racism in healthcare in London, based on the input provided by participants last June. 

The collaborative planning committee is partnering with CRHESI to host a follow-up event on May 30 at Goodwill Industries (255 Horton St. E.) from 9:30am to 2:00pm. Please see the attached flyer or register using the QR code here:

This community event for London’s diverse African, Caribbean, and Black communities, as well as healthcare leaders, will include:

  • Brief update presentations from Ontario Health and key local organizations regarding progress made
  • Small group discussions
  • World café-style input stations to review and provide feedback on the draft Action Plan
  • Opportunities to provide guidance on specific initiatives

A delicious lunch will again be provided. This year, we are also offering on-site child-minding, with child-minders being graciously provided by the London Intercommunity Health Centre. If you require child-minding, please be sure to complete the registration rsvp. French interpretation will be available, as will French-specific small discussion groups and input stations.
