Teacher Well-Being: Trauma- and Violence-Informed Classrooms Curriculum

CRHESI is pleased to share this resource for K-12 educators developed by CRHESI member Dr. Susan Rodger and team.

This e-learning course provides practical guidance for K-12 educators on how to introduce trauma- and violence-informed care (TVIC) approaches to teaching and how this lens can be applied to their own well-being.

The curriculum has 7 sections, with embedded videos and quizzes, student case-based activities, a downloadable Notebook for reflection, and tools and resources for the classroom. After completing the final activity, successfully completing a brief assessment will provide a Certificate of Completion.

This education is for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge and skills when working with children and youth. It also supports educational leaders in developing policies and protocols to support TVIC classrooms.

How it works…

  • Register for the Curriculum (Completely FREE).
  • You can complete the Curriculum in 2-3 non-consecutive hours of self-paced, online participation.
  • The learning is self-directed with the learner choosing which activities to complete, and when. The only requirements are linked to the Certificate of Completion, which is generated by successfully completing the end of course assessment. All other quizzes, reflection questions, and knowledge checks are optional.
  • In undertaking this training, you join an active community of education professionals who share a desire to work effectively and collaboratively with students and their families.
