Yasmin Hussain and Helene Berman are launching a new research project that will bring a group of Syrian refugee youth together to examine the adolescent experience of integrating into the local community as refugees. This project will incorporate narrative and arts-based methodologies to explore what it is like to navigate friendships, schools, institutions, and a new city as a young person refugee.
An Exploration of Integration Journeys and Well-Being: A Youth Participatory Action Research Project with Syrian Refugee Youth is funded by The Child and Youth Refugee Research Coalition (CYRRC), a national alliance of academics, community partners and government agencies working to promote the successful integration of refugee children, youth and their families.
