Isabella Spensieri, CRHESI Affiliate, Trainee

Isabella is a master’s of science (MSc.) student in the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Department at Western University, within the field of Health Promotion. Her master’s research lies within public health ethics, with a particular focus on health equity, social justice, and harm reduction policies. 

As for her professional and academic background, She has previously worked in healthcare in an administrative capacity, and She has volunteer experience working with children with disabilities and medical complexity. Currently, She works as a Research Assistant (Graduate Student Assistant) within the Department of Family Medicine at Western University. Additionally, She served as the Accessibility Commissioner for the 2024-2025 academic year for the Society of Graduate Students (SOGS) at Western University, where she acted as a graduate student leader to advocate for a more accessible, inclusive campus space. She serves as a Youth Advisor on various projects at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, and She holds graduate student membership at the Rotman Insititute of Philosophy at Western University. 

She is passionate about making healthcare a more equitable, accessible, and inclusive space, and I am keen to contribute to research that supports such a goal.
